About Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor Counseling Center (SHCC) is a faith-sensitive provider of mental health services to the community. SHCC exists to provide affordable professional care for the psychological needs of children, adults, couples, and families.

Our highly trained and experienced staff of professional counselors is available to provide psychotherapy, counseling, and a variety of testing services. A sliding-scale fee schedule is available for qualifying families.

Graduate Training
SHCC also serves as a professional training site for the clinical training of area graduate students who are preparing to become therapists. Counseling sessions with graduate students are available for a minimal donation.

Director, Timothy P. Lyons, LPC

Tim is a licensed professional counselor and an ordained minister. He has practiced counseling in the Springfield area for over ten years in both private practice and clinical settings.

As a minister, Tim understands the importance of faith in day-to-day living. He is sensitive to varying faiths and strives to help clients work through life's difficulties within the framework of their individual belief systems.
